Purpose

Dunamis Ministries was created as a healing ministry for homosexuals but we have since realized that the program is relevant for those struggling with other sexual problems such as sexual addiction, sexual abuse, pornography, promiscuity, emotional and dependency.

Our generation carries the yoke of slavery to sexual sin. We reside in a land of sexual impurity and brokenness that is foreign to the "Promised Land" of sexual wholeness that God originally created for us to enjoy.

Victim or Victimizer?

We may be the victim or victimizer; we may even mutually consent with others in relationships fueled by sexual sin and brokenness. Regardless, we undermine the great gift of our sexuality. Instead of enhancing our lives, broken sexuality constrains and belittles us and we remain slaves in bondage. Furthermore, our sexual sin causes us to hide from God. The old self, under the control of lust, deception and despair, rejects the goodness of God. If there is no repentance, there will be no healing. Sexual sin corrupts the good within man and prevents him from embracing the Creator and Redeemer of that good.

Jesus longs to forgive, cleanse and heal the sexual sinner. He desires to set the captives free and He willingly provides stepping stones and makes straight a path for them through the wilderness into the "Promised Land" of sexual wholeness and purity. He commands repentance. He offers nothing less than the full, recreative work of His Spirit to those who turn from their idols and unto Him.

He will restore innocence and clarity to the shamed and confused. He will grant His authority to those rendered impotent by sexual sin and brokenness.

Across the Jordan there is a land ... A "Promised Land" of Hope and Life, a land where the streams of living water never run dry.

He said to the Israelites, "In the future when your descendants ask their fathers, 'What do these stones mean?' tell them, 'Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.' For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan just what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over. He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful and so that you might always fear the LORD your God." [Joshua 4:21-24 NIV]
